Bodega Collection by Joel Escalona Creative Process
Bodega collection refers to cellar art or better known as chiaroscuro, a technique of extreme contrast of light and shadow used by Caravaggio, one of the most famous Italian painters of all time.
The term chiaroscuro implies a sharp transition from darkness to light, losing nuances and subtle color transitions, resulting in theatrical figures and textures, like this piece.
Architectural Digest: Essential lines
"With this collection, we celebrate the happiness of the sculpturally beautiful, the luxury of appreciating nuances in everyday sensations, the freedom to create with clear emotions, and the lyricism of slow, opulent, and imperfect forms," concluded Joel Escalona.

The anthology titled Laws of Motion is a series of different typologies such as mirrors, tables, and seating that articulate the great rigor in the productive execution of the company and the level of introspection achieved by the celebrated designer. Only available in a limited edition of nine pieces, plus two author's proofs, each functional sculpture of immaculate silhouette combines materials such as oak, marble, and metal that, when carefully transformed by Breuer, demonstrate the unique result that is achieved through their bespoke carpentry.
