CARE & MAINTENANCE

At NONO, we always choose to use natural materials in the manufacturing of our furniture, which gives them a unique and distinctive character. By working with solid woods such as walnut, oak, rosa morada, and tzalam, as well as wood veneers, marble, and metals, each piece reflects the individuality of nature. Since no two trees are the same, it is natural for variations in texture, tone, and finish to occur between each piece, which enriches their authenticity and beauty.

While we strive to maintain uniformity in our production, it is important to understand that these differences are inherent to the natural materials we use. To ensure that your furniture retains its beauty and durability, it is essential to follow the cleaning and maintenance recommendations, which are also crucial for maintaining the warranty.

Warranty and Proper Use

Our furniture is designed to offer a long lifespan, but it is essential that the cleaning and maintenance recommendations are followed to keep them in optimal condition. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and damage not related to misuse, abuse, or lack of proper maintenance. Failure to follow the recommended care guidelines may void the warranty.

If you have any additional questions about maintenance or need assistance in caring for your furniture, we are here to help you maximize the lifespan of your investment.

SOLID WOOD

Our solid wood furniture, made from species such as red oak, white oak, walnut, rosa morada, and tzalam, is finished using an advanced protection and aesthetic technique that combines Rubio Precolor Easy and Rubio Oil Plus Pure.

Rubio Precolor Easy is used as a base to color the wood, highlighting its natural beauty without masking its unique characteristics. Rubio Oil Plus Pure is a protective oil applied over the base color, providing a highly resistant protective layer. This oil not only protects the surface from daily wear and tear, but also allows for additional tones to be added if desired, without compromising the natural texture of the wood.

This finish allows the wood to breathe and maintain its organic appearance while providing exceptional durability and resistance to water, stains, and abrasion.

Care and Maintenance

To ensure that your furniture retains its beauty and functionality over time, it is important to follow these basic care guidelines:

  1. Daily Cleaning:

    • Use a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth to remove dust.

    • Avoid using harsh cleaning products such as detergents or cleaners containing strong chemicals. Use only cleaners approved for oil-treated wood surfaces.

  2. Regular Maintenance:

    • Every 6 months, it is recommended to apply a small amount of Rubio Monocoat Maintenance Oil to refresh the protection of the furniture, especially in high-traffic or frequently used areas.

    • For tough stains, use specific products from the Rubio Monocoat maintenance line, always avoiding cleaning solutions that may wear down the finish or leave residues.

  3. Precautions:

    • Do not place hot objects directly on the surface, as this can affect the integrity of the finish.

    • Use felt protectors under decorative or utility objects placed on the furniture to avoid scratches.

    • For tables and everyday surfaces, it is always recommended to use coasters or surface protectors to prevent marks and stains caused by liquids or the heat from cups and glasses.

    • Keep the furniture away from direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can affect the color and durability of the wood.

LACQUERED PARTICLE BOARDS

Lacquered finishes allow solid colors to be added to materials, providing a medium layer of protection that resists dust and dirt. In our process, we use automotive paint with a polyurethane finish, which ensures a smooth and uniform finish with additional durability for daily use. However, it is important to note that this is a delicate finish that can scratch or peel with everyday objects if not properly cared for.

  • Regular Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and loose particles.

  • Deep Cleaning: If necessary, you can use a slightly damp cloth, followed by a dry one to avoid water marks.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Avoid using aggressive cleaning products, solvents, or abrasives that may damage the finish.

  • To protect the surface from scratches or wear, place decorative objects on fabric protectors or use soft bases like felt, and for tables or surfaces, it is always recommended to use coasters or protectors.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat sources, as these can alter the color or texture of the finish over time.

POLYURETHANE
ON VENEERS AND SOLID WOODS.

On solid woods, we use a polyurethane finish that provides a medium layer of protection resistant to daily wear, dirt, and water. In the case of wood veneers, we also use a specialized finish that highlights the natural beauty of the material, offering moderate protection without sacrificing the authenticity and texture of the material.

  • Regular Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust.

  • Deep Cleaning: If necessary, clean with a slightly damp cloth, then dry with another cloth to avoid water marks.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Avoid placing hot objects directly on the surface, as they could leave permanent marks.

  • To protect the surface from scratches, use felt protectors under decorative objects, and for tables or frequently used surfaces, it is always recommended to use coasters or protectors.

  • Avoid direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat sources, as this can affect the color and durability of the finish over time.

MARBLE & NATURAL STONES

Natural stones such as marble allow for the addition of elegant and long-lasting surfaces. However, it is important to keep in mind that marble has open pores, which means it can absorb liquids quickly, leading to permanent stains if proper precautions are not taken.

  • Regular Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust.

  • Deep Cleaning: If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth, followed by a dry one to avoid water marks.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Avoid leaving liquids, especially coffee, wine, or oils, in contact with the marble surface, as they can be absorbed quickly and leave stains that are difficult to remove.

  • Use coasters and placemats to protect the surface from spills and hot objects.

  • It is recommended to apply specific marble sealers periodically to reduce its natural absorption and protect the surface.

CHROMED METAL

The chrome finish is achieved by polishing metal parts to the point of achieving a mirror-like reflection, giving it a shiny and elegant appearance. However, due to its extremely smooth and delicate surface, it is essential to clean it with soft cloths to avoid scratches that could dull its finish.

  • Regular Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and maintain the shine.

  • Recommendation: When cleaning, avoid applying pressure, as this can scratch or damage the finish.

  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can stain or corrode the chrome finish.

METAL WITH ELECTROSTATIC PAINT

Electrostatic painting provides a highly resistant protective layer that prevents oxidation and protects against temperature changes. This type of finish is ideal for preserving the integrity and aesthetics of the metal over time.

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean with a dry microfiber cloth to remove dust.

  • Deep Cleaning: If necessary, you can use a slightly damp cloth, followed by a dry one to avoid water marks.

Recommendation: Although it is resistant, avoid strong impacts or prolonged contact with liquids, as they can compromise the protective layer over time.
