Louis Vuitton’s Silent Stand
At NONO, we are honored to announce that our Creative Director, Joel Escalona, has been commissioned by Louis Vuitton to create a bespoke piece for their temporary flagship store at 6 East 57th Street in New York City. This collaboration underscores our commitment to contemporary design and our dedication to integrating art into everyday spaces.
The store, conceptualized by Shohei Shigematsu of the renowned architectural firm OMA, serves as a dynamic space where fashion, art, and design converge. Within this setting, Joel's "Still Stand" sculpture stands prominently in the men's section, embodying a subtle masculinity that resonates with the curated environment. The piece's robust form and elegant lines reflect the strength and sophistication inherent in modern masculinity, aligning seamlessly with the store's aesthetic.
The "Still Stand" series is characterized by its exploration of raw beauty and serene grace, with each sculpture serving as a testament to the power of materiality and form. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, these pieces invite viewers to pause and reflect, offering a moment of tranquility amidst the bustling retail environment.
This collaboration not only highlights Joel's innovative approach to design but also reinforces Louis Vuitton's role as a patron of the arts, fostering a dialogue between fashion, architecture, and contemporary artistry. We at NONO are proud to be part of this intersection, continually striving to create designs that transcend traditional boundaries and enrich everyday experiences.
